SEMINARS

Designing to API 6A, 16A, and 17D Requirements (21 PDH)
This seminar is a 3-day intensive workshop for design engineers working to the rules of API Specifications 6A, 16A, and 17D, with emphasis on the methods of API Standard 6X, Design Calculations for Pressure-containing Equipment. Topics include the concepts of membrane and bending stress as well as primary, secondary, and peak stresses. The history and logic of the specifications are covered, as well as techniques and formulas for analysis of stresses from pressure, external loads, and thermal gradients. Special techniques include analysis of fatigue, and special handling of bearing stress and shear stress. Interpretation of finite-element results is also covered. Attendees will receive a copy of the Design Handbook for API 6A/ 16A/ 17D Equipment. Click HERE to register for this course.
