This
program is a simple Windows pop-up which uses classical methods to solve the
cubic equation required to find principal stresses from the six stress
components. This is an exact solution, not an iterative process. Six stress
components are entered by the user, and the resulting principal stresses are
calculated, as well as stress intensity and von Mises
equivalent stress.
The
THERMAL program uses classical methods to calculate thermal stresses in a
cylindrical vessel. The internal and external surface temperatures, internal
pressure, and axial load are input into the program, and the results include
principal stresses at the inside and outside surfaces, as well as total
stress intensity values to compare to code allowables. |
